While there has always been an abundance of history within Budapest, it is always near some of the more modern and newer buildings. Amongst all those are hot springs and bath houses, so it is possible to soak away all your worries and more after a day of exploring. It is impossible to not overeat while in Budapest and even more impossible to not overindulge in a little of their fine wine.
A few of the best things to see in Budapest are the Parliament Building, Heroes’ Square, the Danube Promenade, St. Stephen’s Basilica, and the Hungarian State Opera House. If you have time, you must venture out to Margaret Island, which is in the middle of the Danube.
Another must-see destination is the Faust Wine Cellars, since it is a historical delight right underneath Buda Castle.
The winter months in Budapest can get really cold, as low as twenty degrees, but the temperatures rise during the summer and can reach eighty degrees and higher. It rarely snows in Budapest, but there is some mixed precipitation during the colder months. It can rain at any time, although the most rain is often seen during the spring and the summer.
Peak travel season in this city is during the summer months, which is why you may want to consider booking a trip from March through May or September through November. The weather won’t be as warm, but the crowds won’t prevent you from having a good time. You may find better deals during the winter, since that is when very few people want to travel to this part of the world.

· The cities of Pest, Buda, and Óbuda merged back in 1873 to create what we now know as Budapest.
· The oldest metro line in continental Europe is located in this city. It opened back in 1896 and it is only slightly younger than the London Underground, which happens to be the oldest one in all of Europe.
· There are more than two hundred caverns located beneath this city and you can explore many of them during guided tours.
· One of the oldest zoos in the world can be found in Budapest. The Budapest Zoo opened back in 1865 and it is now filled with more than just animals.
Budapest is a city that never makes it to many peoples’ travel bucket list, but for the life of me, I do not know why! This city is rich in history and the food and wine is extraordinary. You can truly have the vacation of a lifetime in Budapest, so consider visiting there sometime soon.
